What belongs here
Lived experience does not need to be cheerful, polished or resolved. You may write about grief, mental health, addiction, faith, doubt, survival, conflict, failure, ordinary life or hope in your own voice. A moderator should not sanitize a story merely because it is difficult to read.
Respect people inside the story
Share what happened to you without publishing private identifying details that are not needed. Be especially careful with children, survivors, health information, addresses, workplaces and allegations about identifiable people. Images containing another person require appropriate permission and remain a pre-launch policy concern.
Content that is not accepted
- Credible threats, targeted harassment, stalking, doxxing or non-consensual intimate material.
- Hateful content that attacks people based on a protected characteristic.
- Instructions, encouragement or graphic coaching for suicide or self-harm.
- Sexual exploitation, abuse material or content that endangers a child.
- Impersonation, fraud, spam, malicious code or illegal transactions.
- Material you do not own or have permission to use.
Mentioning thoughts, harm, abuse or illegal conduct as part of an honest lived experience is different from instructing, praising, targeting or recruiting. Context matters, and a human makes the decision.
What moderation can do
The moderator may approve, ask for a focused change, hold or decline a submission. A request for change should explain the concern without rewriting the contributor’s story. Nothing is automatically rejected or published by AI. Appeals and formal abuse-reporting procedures remain unresolved before launch.
